Sealing Those Six Year Molars

At Trey’s most recent dental checkup we had his six-year molars sealed. Those back teeth need a little extra protection from tooth decay. Trey still hasn’t developed ideal tooth brushing habits (more due to the quality of his brushing than the frequency) so we don’t want to put his first permanent teeth at risk.

Sealants are a common practice and I remember having then done when I was a kid. Here is a link to the National Institute of Dental Research’s website with info on the procedure. Trey didn’t complain a bit and it only lasted about 15 minutes.
