Playing with a New Photo Toy

One of my prizes from this year’s Georgia National Fair was a gift certificate to a local camera shop. Trey and I dropped in there today to spend my free money and I picked up a 40″ translucent white soft umbrella. It is used with off-camera flash photography to give you a larger, softer light source which in turn translates to a nicer, more natural looking light.

I’m doing a family photo session this weekend and I’d like to put the umbrella to good use. So I took my two favorite models to the nearest park to experiment with the new toy/tool. Practice makes perfect, right?
