Trey’s Squirrel Vendetta

So you’ve seen that sweet, adorable side of Trey – now for the other side. In this video he explains his deep hatred for squirrels and what he wants to do to them.

Something About That Name

Bragg Jam Festival

Hugo Joslin, Trey, and Allister Lowery sport animal hats on our front porchJuly 25th was Macon’s annual Bragg Jam Festival and with our guests the Joslins we decided to attend.. The main focus of the festival is it’s “Concert Crawl” during which over 40 bands play on 8 different stages across town. We went to the “art/kids” portion during the day and were joined by our friends Rachel & Allister Lowery from Decatur.

Trey in the moon bounce at the Bragg Jam Festival in downtown MaconWe had a serious mix-up with parking & trolley rides and ended up walking well over a mile to get to the event. Once there, the kids had a blast on the playground and moon bounce.

After a PB&J sandwich lunch we took the trolley back to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and walked through downtown back to our car.

Ocmulgee Nat’l Monument w/ the Joslins

Aaron, Jori, and Hugo at the Ocmulgee National Monument.Ocmulgee National Monument is the place I take pretty much everyone that comes to visit us in Macon. It has a nice nature trail, you learn a little local history, and you get a good view of downtown from the top of the Great Temple Mound.

Unfortunately, the museum in the visitor’s center was under renovations so we didn’t get to go in there. However, the boys had a great time running from mound to mound. It was a great energy burner – something those two boys needed.

Sweetwater, and Lots of Guests

I’m a bit behind on posting to the blog because we’ve had several guests come stay with us. We also took a trip to Sweetwater and visited Grammaw & Peepaw. I’ll back post some photos over the next couple days!

The Joslins Come to Town!

William & Aaron in 1997 in Cote d'IvoireAaron Joslin was my best friend in high school and my roommate for 3 years at boarding school. We’ve kept in touch over the years since then and Heidi and I attended Aaron & Jori’s wedding in 2002. Jori also went to boarding school with me and I’ve known her since 3rd grade!

Aaron and Jori now live in Minnesota and have a son named Hugo William Joslin who is just a couple months younger than Trey. Jori & William in their 3rd grade yearbook from ICAAaron had some vacation time and they decided to come down to Georgia to experience some real summer weather.

Hugo and Trey get to hang out and play for the week and I’ll give them a tour of Middle Georgia. On their first day here, we took them down to Lake Wildwood to feed the ducks.
