On our way out of the neighborhood yesterday I spotted this critter sunning on the banks of one of the creeks that runs into Lake Wildwood. I pulled over and took some pictures of the Common Snapping Turtle and found him to be very passive. I went back and let Trey see him up close after I explained the danger to him. Apparently, the idea of a turtle biting off his hand didn’t sound very good to him and he was petrified of the thing. Just as well… that fella is just plain ugly.
