Trey Visits the WW2 Memorial

This morning was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Trey. Trey, my dad, my brother Philip, my grandfather, and I went to the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. My grandfather (Trey’s namesake) is a decorated veteran from WW2. He led an armored division and was awarded the bronze medal for his heroism during the Battle of the Bulge.

This is the first (and probably last) time my grandfather visited the memorial that was erected on the Washington Mall to honor him and the thousands of other American soldiers who fought in that war. Trey didn’t realize the significance of the occasion but some day he’ll look back on these photos and realize how special it was.

That is really a blessing for Trey to visit the memorial with one of the solders that fought bravely in WW2. I too think that one day Trey will realize how special that was.
