Aunt Rachel Pays a Visit

Trey’s Aunt Rachel from San Diego, CA dropped in this weekend to celebrate her birthday with family. Trey really enjoyed hanging out with her and chasing her in circles around the house. He also learned a new trick from her – sticking out his tongue. I’m sure that ones gonna get him in trouble later.

At her birthday party Trey’s cousin Jameson came and the two had a great time in the backyard and then later jumping on the bed together. Fortunately neither of the little monkeys fell and bumped their heads.

At the Duck Park

Sweetwater, TN has a nice little park downtown by the creek that is swarming with ducks. Trey enjoyed chasing them around and shouting “Kak, Kak” (translation: “Quack, Quack”).

TCM: Psycho

Trey Classic MoviesLike his father, Trey is a fan of classic movies and together they are working on a series of re-enactments of some the most memorable moments in film history. Here is the first installment of Trey’s Classic Movies: the shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

A Farm Full of McBrides

Hanging out with the McBrides in SweetwaterWe spent our Easter weekend in Sweetwater at Trey’s great-grandparents. On the way up we stopped in Macon to check out houses and neighborhoods. Heidi came back on Sunday so that she could work on Monday, but Trey and I decided to hang around a few more days.

Mitzi talks in the video and Trey runs around in the backgroundTuesday afternoon my college roommate Shane McBride came by with his family. They are preparing to go into full-time ministry with Hope for Orphans. I was helping them make a “promo” video to raise support for their ministry. It was pretty challenging to do – they were holding their two kids and talking to the camera. I was holding Trey in one arm and a boom mic in the other. After several takes, the kids started getting antsy and comedy ensued. I’ll be sure to post the video when it is finished since as much as I tried I couldn’t keep Trey out of all of the shots.

Mommy Matches

The crowd of students and their families at Skipper’sMatch Day is the day when all the 4th year medical students across the nation find out where they are going to spend their residency. We went to Skipper’s Smokehouse in North Tampa to join 120 other USF medical students who gathered to open their envelopes and find out where they matched.

Heidi opens her match envelopeHeidi didn’t have to wait too long until she was called up. She opened her envelope and read to the crowd… drum roll…

Surgery in Macon, GA

So what does that mean for us? We will be moving sometime in May of this year and living in Macon for at least 5 years. We’re sad to leave our friends and family in Florida but excited about the whole new series of adventures ahead.

Also, the USF Medical School website wrote a little story about Heidi as one of the med students. She’s the third one down the page – http://hscweb3.hsc.usf.edu/health/now/?p=412
